Currently in Vancouver, it is prohibited by bylaws to tether dogs to a pole or bike rack.

PetParker’s pods “smart dog houses” will be rented to businesses on a subscription basis and placed outside, allowing pet owners to access them for free via an app.
To register, dog owners must provide proof that their pets are vaccinated and trained to use the bathroom outside.

The PetParker “smart pods” are ventilated, temperature-controlled and can fit an average-sized dog (2 ft x 2 ft x 4 ft).
They are also equipped with a camera that can be viewed through the app and are monitored remotely by PetParker.

These “smart dog houses” will arrive in Vancouver this summer and hope to provide an alternative to tethering pets or leaving them in cars.
Would you leave your dog in a smart pod? 🐶🤔
