There are a number of awe-inspiring bodies of water in British Columbia; however, Green Lake is a truly magical place.
For one, it doesn’t even look like it belongs in the Pacific Northwest. With green-blue, gem-toned waters, the lake invokes a tropical feel. As such, it looks more like a Caribbean Sea (minus the reef sharks!)

Located in 100 Mile House, the lake’s colour pops against the surrounding greenery with its vivid hue. In addition, its jewel coloured waters are crystal clear, which adds to its pristine appeal.
The lake gets its famous complexion from the chemical composition of its warm, shallow waters. What’s more, it is 14 km long, which provides ample room for its stunning tone to shimmer in the sun.

Green Lake in BC
Not only is the lake easy on the eyes, but it makes the perfect playground for an array of aquatic activities. From stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, and more, the waters are perfect for summer fun.
As part of the Green Lake Provincial Park, there are a number of places to camp with family, friends or a significant other. In addition to beautiful greenery, the park is home to myriad wildlife. Visitors may encounter black bear, coyote, moose, deer, squirrels and marmots, as well as a range of birds.

Similarly, there is another lesser-known Canadian gem that is reminiscent of the Caribbean. Located on the east side of Canada in a chain of breathtaking islands, it is also divinely beautiful.
