Cornucopia is an appropriate name for a gourmet food and drink festival offering more flavours than you can shake a stick at. Over the course of 11 days in November, the 20th edition of this event will offer visitors the chance to taste the best wines, beers, spirits and food from across B.C. and the world.
Tickets are already selling quickly for many of the events, unsurprisingly considering the Cornucopia brings more than 15,000 people to the resort of Whistler. The festival, which is presented by BlueShore Financial, roars into life on November 10 with the 20th Anniversary Party at the Picnic
The festivities continue with events such as the ‘Taste the World’ Night Market, Poured: Full Spectrum of Taste, and Bearfoot Bistro’s World Oyster Invitational and Bloody Caesar Battle. That last elevates the West Coast’s signature drink to an art form!
New for this year are Sommelier Tours at Cellar Door and Crush Grand Tastings. These tours will include meeting winemakers, learning about their processes and, naturally, tasting their wares.
The BC Craft Brewers Guild will also be putting on a Winter Beer Market after a successful first foray in 2015. This will be an early chance for beer aficionados (or plain, old beer guzzlers) to sup the newest recipes from the more than 60 members of the BC Craft Brewers Guild.
Also spilling from the horn of plenty are a wide range of tastings, seminars, contests and more. There is more than enough to entertain both amateurs and experts at this festival, which was created to support the local food and drink industry of Whistler and its environs.
